Yes...i would call it the official spring trip ... coz the trip took place during spring time in Europe (but the weather feels like it's winter though...i guess i was not used to the cold weather for the first half hour in Amsterdam...but after a long warm bath...the memory of the long harsh winter in Chicago was back)
Well it was not actually a holiday trip...i was in Europe for 8 days because of Trade Mission on behalf of the boss.. The big boss was kind enough to realize that me being the only one that has never set her foot in Europe...Lukas and Thomas has been there almost every year...not once but they can travel like 3x a year...mom has been there for a few times...
You know before i went for the trip..mom kept telling me that I will like Europe..esp the food...the food there suits my taste..(cold sandwich...salami....warm hard crusted bread....waffles..chocolates ..wine...) the well-preserved infrastructure...museum visits...and shopping!!!
I was lucky though...the Trade Mission didn't last that long that I have enough time to get myself get familiar with Amsterdam and Brussels. I felt more like a tourist rather than a working person there...everything feels so laid back. Do you know that the shops there closed at 6pm and Sunday??!!! and people there likes to hang out at cafes...enjoying every sip of their drinks and appetizer.
I went to a cheese factory in Amsterdam near the Windmill attraction... Amazingly...from a person who cannot and refuse to consume milk and dairy products...yes that's me...turn out to love all the cheese produced over there...and cheese reminded me of my mom..who are obsessed with cheese, salami and wine ...and i ended up buying varieties of cheese...(and i was only back for 2 days...and my mom finished almost a quarter of them..
Belgian waffel was absolutely delicious...however i can't finished all of them...it was too much for me. I understand know why the westerners tend to be bigger than the Asian...they consumed so much food...4 Asians can finished a belgian waffle...but a European can finish everything by herself.
The views in both cities are amazing...breathtaking...all the buildings are so well-preseverd, and details are so beautifully crafted. Every time I walked pass these buildings...i felt like a royal hahahaha..inspecting each building...
Well...guilty pleasure confession : Europe is indeed the best place to shop for good branded quality bag and shoes!!! The price are considered to be so much cheaper than Indonesia...now i understand well why alot of indonesian like to go Europe to hunt their fav branded bag....anyway...only the photos that i have taken while i was there will explain so much more of how fun the trip was for me.
